The role
To strengthen the team at our Weert (NL) location, we are currently looking for a Process Engineer.
The primary focus of the Process Engineer comprises scale-up and commercial cGMP manufacturing activities in the Manufacturing Department. The work is carried out on (extended) day shifts and takes place in the multipurpose facilities at the Kilogram Lab and the Pilot Plant.
The Process Engineer reports to the Team Lead Manufacturing & Scale Up.
Key job responsibilities
- Configuration of the equipment setup required for manufacturing.
- Execution of chemical processing and equipment cleaning in accordance with batch record instructions.
- Sampling during process execution.
- Coordination of material flow for raw materials and products to and from the department’s warehouse.
- Detailed planning of process execution.
- Participation, on a regular basis, in project teams to advise on technical feasibility, scalability, equipment configuration, and EHS aspects of chemical processes (governance meeting).
- Recording of process execution in batch records, according to Good Documentation Practice (GDP).
- Participation in internal improvement projects supporting EHS and/or compliance initiatives.
Job requirements
- Bachelor’s degree plus 1–2 years of experience in fine-chemical processing, or MBO/MTS/VaPro-C qualification plus 3–5 years of experience in the fine-chemical industry.
- Theoretical and good working knowledge of all standard manufacturing techniques. Understanding of EHS aspects of chemical processing.
- Strong affinity with and basic knowledge of organic chemistry.
- Experienced in (or familiar with) working with quality/ISO/audit/management systems.
- Good written and verbal knowledge of English.
