Custom synthesis of research compounds includes the preparation of building blocks, reference standards, metabolites, impurities, stable isotope-labeled compounds (2H, 13C and 15N), diagnostics, (cleavable) linkerslipids, and a range of tool/test compounds. A more exhaustive list is given below:

Advanced Macrocycles
Symeres develops medium-ring macrocycles using modular synthetic methods and conformational analysis. Our Symecycle library and expertise enable the design and synthesis of macrocycles that expand chemical space in drug discovery.

Amino Acids
We provide natural, non-natural, and isotopically labeled amino acids. Using biocatalysis alongside classical methods such as Strecker, Petasis, and Bucherer–Bergs reactions, our chemists deliver multifunctional and optically pure chiral building blocks to accelerate drug discovery and development.

Carbohydrate Chemistry
Our team designs and synthesizes complex carbohydrates and glucuronides with precise stereo- and regioselectivity. By combining tailored protection strategies with advanced purification techniques, we deliver high-quality carbohydrate derivatives to support drug discovery and development.

Controlled Substances
Symeres is licensed in the Netherlands, United States, and Finland to buy, handle, synthesize, and ship controlled substances. We provide secure and fully compliant synthesis, purification, and analysis services to support research programs involving narcotics, psychotropics, and related precursors.

Impurity Synthesis
We synthesize process and degradation impurities, reference standards, and isotopically labeled markers. Using preparative HPLC/SFC with full NMR and MS characterization, we deliver high-quality reference materials that support regulatory compliance and pharmaceutical product safety.

Linkers & Conjugation Chemistry
Symeres designs and synthesizes cleavable and non-cleavable linkers for ADCs, SMDCs, PROTACs, and diagnostics. We develop self-immolative motifs and apply bioorthogonal click chemistry to deliver tailored conjugation solutions.

Lipids
In partnership with Organix, we provide custom synthesis and purification of specialty lipids, including MC3, cationic, biodegradable, and GalNAc derivatives. Our scalable processes extend to GMP production and are backed by advanced analytical platforms to ensure the highest purity.

Nucleosides & Nucleotides
We have deep expertise in nucleoside and nucleotide chemistry, applying solution- and solid-phase synthesis for natural and modified analogs. Using specialized HPLC methods, we isolate and purify polar compounds for applications in assays, medicinal chemistry, and nucleotide-based therapeutics.

Peptidomimetics
Our chemists design and synthesize cyclic and modified peptide scaffolds to enhance stability and binding. Our toolbox includes CuAAC, ring-closing metathesis, disulfide stapling, lactamization, and custom non-proteinogenic building blocks.

Positron Emission Tomography (PET)
Symeres develops radiochemistry precursors and tracers with fluorine-18, carbon-11, and oxygen-15. We provide rapid synthesis, purification, and quality control to support imaging studies where short half-lives demand speed and precision.

Polymer Synthesis
With Organix, we provide custom polymer synthesis and modification using free-radical, ionic, ring-opening, and RAFT polymerization methods. We design tailored polymers and building blocks for advanced drug delivery systems, including polymer nanoparticles, supported by comprehensive analytical and purification capabilities up to GMP production.

PROTACs & Other Bifunctional Modalities
We offer a modular synthesis platform for PROTACs and other bifunctional modalities. Our toolbox includes E3 ligase ligands such as CRBN, VHL, and cIAP, together with more than 100 linker constructs to rapidly build focused libraries for early-stage development.

Stable Isotope‑Labeled Compounds
Symeres has decades of experience in stable isotope labeling with deuterium, 13C, and 15N. We apply precursor-based synthesis and hydrogen–deuterium exchange methods, with additional labeled compounds available through our Chiralix catalog.

Steroids
Symeres has broad experience in synthesizing and modifying steroids, including corticosteroids, sex hormones, bile acids, and labeled derivatives. We design and optimize routes for novel analogs and conjugates, delivering high-quality compounds under strict safety standards.

Vitamin D
With over 25 years of experience, Symeres synthesizes vitamin D derivatives and intermediates using photochemical and building-block strategies. Our scalable routes provide multigram quantities and cGMP building blocks to support drug development.
