Symeres is looking for a Junior Controller who will support multiple legal entities within our international organization. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Group Financial Controller and contribute to the further development and professionalization of the Finance function.
You will gain hands-on experience across financial accounting, reporting, project administration, audits, and business support while working in a dynamic environment within a leading Contract Research Organization (CRO).
What you will do
As Junior Controller, you will be part of the Group Finance team and play an important role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong internal controls, and supporting operational and strategic finance initiatives.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes for multiple entities
- Preparing journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting documentation
- Developing and maintaining high-quality balance sheet files and financial specifications
- Assisting with the preparation of management reports, budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses
- Monitoring the financial performance and administration of subsidy-funded projects, including WBSO programs
- Supporting external audits and ensuring timely delivery of audit documentation
- Participating in finance-related projects across the organization
- Contributing to the professionalization and continuous improvement of financial processes, controls, and reporting
- Supporting the integration of foreign financial administrations into the Group ERP environment
- Assisting in the implementation of best practices, standardization, and harmonization across international entities
- Collaborating with stakeholders across Finance, Operations, and local management teams
What we are looking for
We are looking for an ambitious and hands-on finance professional who enjoys combining accounting, reporting, analysis, and process improvement.
You bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree (HBO or University) in Finance, Accounting, Business Economics, or a related field
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in accounting, audit, financial control, or finance
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
- A proactive mindset and willingness to take ownership
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with stakeholders across different levels of the organization
- A structured and solution-oriented approach to work
- Fluency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
- Experience with ERP systems; experience with Exact is considered a plus

- A competitive starting salary of up to €45,000 gross per year, including holiday allowance
