Symeres’ employees are working on more than 1000 projects every year. In our state-of-the-art laboratories, we work on a variety of challenging synthetic organic chemistry projects for a global client base.
We are always interested in meeting talented Organic Chemists. Experience in medicinal chemistry, process chemistry, analytical chemistry or complex synthetic organic chemistry (BSc, MSc, or PhD) is preferred.

As Site Director Groningen, you will translate the global Symeres strategy into a local strategy, safeguarding synergy across sites and services via customer-centric project teams. You will further drive the transformational change of the organization from a local to a global player.
You will be responsible for end-to-end site performance, in close collaboration with the service platform teams in a matrix organization. In addition, you will build the fundamentals for a future-proof organization, while also focusing on operational excellence (e.g., initiate continuous improvement to increase efficiencies and improve key performance indicators). You will be part of a fast growing international organization with a projected 35% growth of the site. In this role, you will report to the Managing Director of Symeres NL.

Our location in Groningen is offering a PhD position for a project on “Deracemization of α-acyl amino acids catalyzed by racemases under flow conditions in deep eutectic solvents” in collaboration with Graz University of Technology, Austria.
The main part of your doctoral research (25 months) will take place in Groningen under the supervision of Dr. Ton Vries (Head of Innovation and Technology at Symeres). However, the first 11 months of the research will be carried out at Graz University of Technology (Austria, with Prof. Robert Kourist).
The PhD research will focus on the production and characterization of N-acyl amino acid racemases (NAAARs), immobilization for flow-chemistry purposes, and the design of the deracemization of α-acyl amino acids in deep eutectic solvents.

Analytical Researchers are involved in QC aspects (research and development activities and routine measurement) related to technology developments and the production of small-molecule APIs for clinical trials or for commercial use. They are involved in the development/optimization and validation of the method used, and they write and review documentation for the analysis of raw materials, intermediates, final products, and specific impurities. They work in close collaboration with Analytical Specialists, QC group leaders, Chemists, and the Head of QC.

As part of an increasing demand for our services at our location in Prague CZ (Běchovice), we are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Quality Assurance Specialist (full time).
The Quality Assurance Specialist manages the QA aspects of the production of small-molecule APIs for clinical trials or for commercial use. They write, review, approve, and archive documentation for the production and analysis of the products, equipment, facility, and personnel in close collaboration with the Head of QA, Head of QC, and Head of Production.

The AR&D Analyst develops complete analytical packages, appropriate for the cGMP phase of the project, to support the development of process routes and to support production campaigns. These analytical packages may consist of sampling plans, analytical methods, and corresponding validation protocols and stability protocols, and reference standard qualification. The AR&D Analyst works in a multidisciplinary team, where chemical development and analytical development go hand in hand. The key job responsibilities will be development and optimization of analytical methods fit for the intended purpose, providing advice regarding the development of product specifications and System Suitability Test parameters, and writing analytical protocols for stability studies and validations.
